Tiffin by Sunil
Having conquered the capital with his cooking in Pickle, on Camden Street, Sunil Ghai has turned to his own zone of pretty, seasidey Greystones, in County Wicklow, and has opened Tiffin, with his wife, Leena. This unique delicatessen and traiteur offers a superb array of modern and classic dishes, from railway lamb curry and buttered chicken, to venison samosas with juniper berries and wild berry chutney, to lamb dum biryani finished with rose extract and saffron. As one would hope, Tiffin offers a great selection of both vegan and vegetarian dishes – Guptaji’s samosa; Kashmiri subz biryani; Hyderabi vegetable korma; dal Muradabadi.
And, if your kid wants to be too cool for school, then the sure way to get there is to bring a Tiffin school lunch box with you to the classroom: just imagine snacking on Aloo Parantha at breaktime. Now, that’s cool, and that’s another way in which Sunil and Leena are changing how we think about ethnic food. Tiffin has made life better for the people of Greystone in its first year, and already the awards have started coming in, so don’t miss this brilliantly innovative destination.
