Terroirs has gifted two decades of service to Dubliners and wine lovers and food lovers, and the great achievement of Françoise and Sean in all that time has been to stay always relevant, always surprising, always enterprising.
Mr and Mrs Gilley created a timeless aesthetic in their store when they opened, and age has only improved it, bringing a patina of wisdom, an air of assurance and discrimination. Above all, their luminous and unmatched window displays show the value of birthright, for here is that precise French savoir faire rendered in the most glorious version of foodie nature morte: just looking in the window makes you feel good, and tht window is a pivotal part of the charm of a tony neighborhood like Donnybrook.
Their combined knowledge means they are able to keep finding good bottles made by good winemakers, most especially from their beloved France, and their treasure trove of good things to eat is always intriguing and special. Every trip to Terroirs feels like a treat.
