Sugar and Spice is a bright pretty room in this bright, pretty village, and it’s a vital stop-over for the traveller, and a key Wexford destination for excellent breakfasts and lunches.
Just think of this, for example, and listen to your tummy rumble: for lunch Linda Larkin and her team have prepared roast rib eye of beef, from their own farm, served in a S&S foccaccia, with horseradish, some red onion marmalade, and freshly sliced tomato, with a few fresh leaves for crispy, crunchy texture. Now, what could be better than that? Actually, the answer is simple: just follow the rib-eye foccaccia with a nice cup of tea, or coffee, and one of the S&S chocolate and hazelnut tarts, or a slice of perfect Swiss roll, or a fantastic lemon bar, and you have just had the perfect lunch. Everything from the morning’s scones to the crisp, lively savoury baking and the fresh salads, and then those splendiferous desserts, is done just right. Sugar and Spice is also a key player in the local community, a destination that is at the heart of everything. Linda will also be running the cafe at Altamont Gardens, so that is just great news for garden lovers and visitors.
