The Sandwich Stall

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

Part of the art of the sandwich is to make something that looks as alluringly delicious as it is going to taste. On that score, the Sandwich Stall has it nailed: just take one look at the entrancing display of sandwiches arrayed before you on the stall, and all self-control goes out the window, because you have just got to have that mortadella sandwich, now, you need that ham and salad baguette, instantly. Jenny-Rose Clarke and the team start with the best ingredients you can find – O’Mahony’s honey, mustard and clove roast ham, Arbutus breads, Toonsbridge Dairy cheese – and then they just let their imaginations run riot, so The Sandwich Stall sarnies are artful creations, ethereal concoctions with fresh leaves and micro-greens and beautiful staples, and not just ingredients arranged in between bread.
Of course, whilst the sandwiches get the top billing, you can’t miss out on the Golden Bean coffee, the beautiful salads and the sweet treats: after all, what would life be like if you didn’t allow yourself a carmel square everytime you visit the English Market.
