The Peppermill Restaurant
Robert and Mairead's Peppermill Restaurant is a textbook modern Irish restaurant. The rooms are comfortable, smart and welcoming, the service is expert and affable, the cooking is assured and modern, and when you put these elements together as precisely as they are in The Peppermill, then you can understand why the Gill's restaurant has been a mainstay of Nenagh since 2000.
The assurance of the cooking starts with smart sourcing – Union Hall fish and shellfish, local specialities such as Inch House black pudding – and then the kitchen gets imaginative and creative: gratin of hake with smoked salmon and saffron orzo; tian of crab with avocado and basil; organic salmon with spinach in filo pastry; Hereford sirloin with horseradish cream. The kitchen also offers expert Asian influenced dishes – lamb rendang; lamb cutlet with coconut rice cake; teriyaki sirloin with nasi goreng and Asian broth; Panang monkfish curry.
