The Olde Castle Bar & Restaurant

In simple terms, The Olde Castle serves the sort of lip smacking cooking that the hungry traveller craves, and hopes to find in a classic Irish bar – Donegal bay seafood pie; the classic Greencastle seafood platter; grilled fishcakes; haddock in beer batter with crisp hot chips. It’s not all seafood, for there is sirloin steak and Eddie Walsh’s Donegal beef in a burger and Inishowen lamb shank, and good Guinness and leek sausages with champ. But the seafood is glistening fresh and the upstairs Red Hugh’s Restaurant is comfortable and welcoming, and the perfect destination to enjoy lobster with spinach and saffron sauce.
