Naughton's Steak and Seafood
Elaine and Robert know how to do the good thing in Naughton’s, their atmospheric warren of dining and drinking rooms that encompasses their steak and seafood restaurant along with M Gleeson’s traditional bar. The style and the setting elide perfectly with Robert’s direct and delicious cooking, which means it’s no surprise that during the season in Kilkee it’s difficult to get a table in here. But if you are lucky enough to get a seat, then enjoy the clamour and the noise, and some lip smackin’ food: Glenbeigh mussels with garlic and white wine finished with cream; crab claws with salad and soda bread; monkfish in Guinness batter with home fries; deep-fried lemon sole with tartare sauce; sirloin with sautéed mushrooms and onions; Angus burger with cheese and bacon; the lush chocolate fondant. The cooking is assured and perfectly executed, service is fleet and friendly, and that’s why Naughton’s is always jammers.
