Ahmet Dede has been firing out food for the Gods in Mews over the last two years, and diners swoon over his dishes, and the impact his technically perfect food delivers: ‘spiritual’ is, so far, the ultimate tribute we have heard, though it’s common for people to talk about dinner as a ‘series of wow! moments’, and to speak of Mr Dede’s cooking as delivering the culinary highlight of the year. Start with Sally Barnes’ wild salmon on crispy fish skin, proceed through pearly-white cod with seaweeds, and even simple seasonal foods such as Vincent Collins’ tomatoes with Macroom buffalo ricotta offer mind-blowing flavours. It’s a beautiful, comfortable room and staff are observant but never intrusive. Just make sure to book well in advance at the height of the season.
