La Cucina Centro
Fifteen years after they first opened an Italian pizza take-away and café in Castletroy, Bruno and Lorraine Coppola are the Limerick restaurateurs par excellence, and their city centre flagship, La Cucina Centro, is the big hit in the city. Late in 2017 they were joined in the kitchen by Diarmuid O’Callaghan, one of the finest chefs ever to work in Limerick, which will give even more firepower to this stupendously successful restaurant. It’s a funky modern room in the centre of town, and the brilliant staff deserve a special mention. The menu offers Italy’s greatest hits, cooked with verve and dedication, and you could come here and have spaghetti bolognese, or an n’duja pizza, and it would be the best night ever. And if they kids have one of those wicked hot chocolate concoctions, they’ll never shut up about it.
