When McKennas' Guide editor Eamon Barrett brought a party of guests to La Boheme, his friends could hardly believe their luck. “Scandinavia may be the centre of the foodiverse at the moment but, according to my Norwegian visitor Tommy, the food at La Boheme is ‘the finest I’ve ever eaten’. At the same table, my young English friend Stuart could only say ‘I’ve never eaten food like this in my life’. And my Irish friend TJ could only sit back, smug in the knowledge that the restaurant that had caused him to promise the visitors so much, had delivered another wonderful evening of eating and service.”
Eamon and his guests enjoyed a delightful lobster salad; some Kilmore Quay crabmeat on a pastry disc; a disc of butter-smooth foie gras with walnuts and hazelnuts on brioche; some Fenor Farm pork belly with coco beans; Hereford fillet steak with celeriac and forest mushrooms; black angus rib eye with bearnaise butter; and some Dunmore East pollock cooked simply with a butter sauce. Service was assured and friendly, and there is great value to be had in La Boheme's early bird and Market menus. A great Waterford destination.
