The Hopsack isn't a wholefood shop. It's a Dublin institution. Finn and Kate Murray have succeeded their folks, Jimmy and Erica, at the helm of one of Dublin's most iconic addresses, and this powerhouse duo have driven the business ever forward, creating a destination that is a veritable whirlwind of dynamic activity.
At the heart of everything that happens in The Hopsack are the twin ideals of health and community. They provide not just the means to optimum health for their customers – superb foods of every type, including organic vegetables and herbs from their own farm – but also the expert advice on nutrition and diet that helps people onto the path to good health. And underpinning this work is the core concept of community, the belief that individuals can and do make a difference to the lives of people all around them.
Put these two ideas to work, and you wind up with a dynamic place that is best referred to as a creative commons – a place where everyone contributes to a shared dynamic, a place where people work and act creatively. So, don't be thinking that The Hopsack is jut another wholefood shop. Just step in here for a juice or a coffee and soak up the energy and idealism that has driven the business for thirty five years, and will drive it for the next thirty five years.
