Food Pioneers of the Year
Pioneer of the Year - Lost & Found
It used to be an item of faith at McKennas Guides that there was no reason to head west across the River Bann, in Northern Ireland. Boy, has that ever changed. Over the last few years one pioneer after another has opened their doors and shown that you don't have to live in and around Belfast and the Gold Coast to eat well. But Lost & Found in Coleraine pushes so many new buttons that the value of this fearless pioneer is hard to guage. A radical coffee house run by four hip people? And it's in Coleraine, not Holywood! How wild! Wild indeed, but these guys are bringing cassoulet, and pulled pork, and Mahembe espresso, to the North West, and they are already expanding into the upstairs space above their gorgeous room as we write. Time to cross the River Bann in 2015.
