Feed Cafe Restaurant
Sligo has always been a county for maverick, creative, surprising restaurateurs, talented people who do excellent things in surprising places, and Paul Monaghan’s Feed Café, in the Sligo Folk Park, fits perfectly into that admirable category. It’s a great spot early in the day for Paul’s excellent freshly baked breads and scones and a good cup of coffee, or an energy-packed bowl of porridge with fresh fruit. Paul’s lunchtime dishes deliver true, assured flavours and textures, in dishes like chicken curry with cashews and egg-fried rice, or baked ham with chorizo mash, or the particularly fine salads with their just-right dressings. Mr Monaghan has already begun to garner quite a reputation for his cooking and – especially – for his wonderful baking, and this little East Sligo secret isn’t going to stay a secret for much longer.
