Cornude Artisan Popcorn
Ruth Ormiston has a riotous imagination.
Her company, Cornude, makes popcorn. But in reality, what Cornude does is to make popcorn that reflects Ms Ormiston’s crazy creativity. She makes popcorn with flavours of paprika and lime. She makes popcorn with strawberry and Belgian chocolate. She makes popcorn with Irish seaweed.
She roams the culinary globe, alighting on ideas and combinations she likes – smoked chilli and lime; lemon and whiskey; toasted marshmallow; amaretto and almond – then brings the combinations home, and makes popcorn with them.
She’s the Ferran Adria of popcorn, blowing your mind with unimagined ideas and techniques that flow from that riotous imagination.
Of course, Cornude popcorn bears no relation to the rubbish that is sold in cinema foyers. This is top-quality corn, alchemized by a gifted artisan, and it’s a culinary riot.
