Copper and Spice
It’s typical of the thoughtfulness that characterises everything that Brian and Seema Conroy do in Copper & Spice that they offer all their dishes as half-portions for children because “we prefer to encourage children to experience different tastes and want to make dining at Copper & Spice a desirable occasion for children, not just another occasion to eat chicken nuggets and chips”.
This approach is typical of the trail-blazing that has always been a feature of C&S. When they first opened in Limerick city back in 2002, the authenticity of their ethnic cooking was unmatched, and everyone else quickly had to play catch-up to attempt to match their authenticity and their precision. But Brian and Seema have stayed ahead of the posse, offering sundried beef, Chicken 65, Japanese gyoza, Massaman curry, and kulfi for pudding. Lovely wines, smashing room, great dishes for vegetarians and excellent value for money show why the Conroys are real players in Limerick’s food culture.
