Brigit's Garden

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

There is a powerful sense of enchantment and inclusivity to be enjoyed as you stroll around Brigit's Garden. The 11 acres are so artfully crafted and orchestrated that they impart a womb-like sense of being in nature and, on a fine day, it is an experience that imparts an extraordinarily powerful sense of peace and well-being. If you wish to experience what the Japanese refer to as Forest Bathing – shinrin-yoku – then Brigit’s Garden is the place where you will experience that sense of well-being, calmness, and meditaive relaxation. You could, of course, come here just to sample their fine café, but truthfully no visitor should miss these ingenious and captivating gardens, which fuse an aesthetic beauty with a contemplativeness that is disarming. It’s very Celtic Zen, which we like a lot and we don't know anywhere else that gives such a sense of place. The café is excellent, colourful and cute, with wholesome, true cooking that congratulates the aura of the gardens perfectly. You won't want to leave Brigit's Garden, a true delight of the West of Ireland.
