Best of Bridgestone Awards@ Irish Examiner Food Festival

Held in Fitzgerald’s Park in Cork last weekend, this was the second year of the festival and learning’s taken from last year meant a greatly improved event. Over eleven thousand people visited and sampled the offerings from seventeen Cork restaurants and over twenty Cork food and beverage a producers.

The stunning weather on Saturday meant that visitors could lounge on the grass or on giant bean bags and soak in the buzz and live music. When the weather is favourable there is nowhere in the world I would rather be than in my home county surrounded by good food people.

One addition to the festival this year was the Best of Bridgestone Awards. Myself and fellow Bridgestone Editor and Irish Examiner food writer Joe McNamee were hard at work over the weekend in search of the very best that the exhibitors could offer.

Every exhibitor impressed us with their unique style, their food and their interaction with visitors.
