Caroline Byrne has lollipops, bonbons and the most beautiful food of her life.

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

If I had to choose but a few of my most memorable food moments in Ireland in 2013:

Mickael Viljanen's 'children's party' at The Greenhouse - a course of earthly delights including foie gras transformed into childhood memories in the shape of lollies, biccies, bonbons and 'tea.' All paired with a layered and fragrant off-dry Riesling, chosen by the excellent Lorraine Harmon, sommelier at The Greenhouse.

A tasting menu by Sunil Ghai at Ananda. I've written plenty about this man's talents over the year so I won't wax on. Suffice to say his take on regional Indian cooking makes for possibly the most delicious beautiful food I've ever eaten.

Sandwiches! When hipster meets foodie and produces something incredibly tantalising (and photogenic)...just please stop instagramming your lunch, that's enough now.
