  • Mike O'Toole Exhibition

The brilliant Mike O’Toole will have an exhibition of his food photography, entitled The Sky and The Ground at the Skyline Gallery, as part of the Kenmare Food Carnival, running from July 13-15.

Kenmare has always been one of the most exceptional towns in Ireland’s food culture, and the Carnival events will show you the riches that the town enjoys.

Fuchsia House in Ardee, Co Louth, will be having an evening of Bangladeshi street food meets Irish Craft Beers on July 12th at 7pm. More details at:

On June 24th the wonderful Phoenix Restaurant will be holding a herb walk as part of the Keel community open garden day. Get down to Boolteens on the Dingle peninsula to try their famous dips, and buy a copy of Lorna Tyther's A Culinary Adventure which contains lots of Lorna's superb vegetarian creations.

Look out for the new Driver's Cider from the brilliant guys at Highbank Orchards in Kilkenny: 0%alcohol, 100% organic.

Lovely summer mixed case offers from the Winestore. Just try the va-va-voom of that rosé from Domaine la Sarabande.

Our prize for the best piece of food packaging we have seen in yonks? The six-bottle carrier for 8 Degrees Brewing's Knockmealdown Porter. If this doesn't win a prize, we will give up drinking. The drink itself is one of the best things we have tasted in...yonks.

If you have enjoyed the salt baked beetroot from chef John Wyer in Dublin's Mulberry Gardens, you can try your own version if you get a copy of Alain Passard's gorgeous book, The Art of Cooking with Vegetables. The book is a sublime meditation on vegetables. (Frances Lincoln stg£20).
