
Kevin and Ann are master and mistres of good food in Moycullen. With their classic restaurant – White Gables – and their handsome, colourful food store and café – Enjoy – they cover every inch of culinary turf in the village.
It is so refreshing to see a chef like Kevin decide that he has no interest in chasing modern culinary fashions, and that he will cook where his heart lies, with the classic dishes of classic French cuisine – snails with garlic and herb butter; beef consommé; roast duckling with orange sauce; beef Wellington; sole on the bone with beurre blanc; pineapple with Kirsch. It takes some nerve in modern cooking to assert that you have no interest in being modern, that you are a classicist and happy with that position, but the Dunnes have that nerve, they have that conviction, and they have that confidence, and they do things their way. Oh, and everyone loves it, of course. Who doesn't love classic deliciousness?
Enjoy is the traiteur-food hall of Kevin and Ann's empire, and it’s packed with lovely things – Gingergirl relishes; Badger & Dodo coffee; Connemara Smokehouse fish; Solaris teas; their own superb savoury and sweet baking. It’s a lovely room in which to take breakfast or lunch, and to take away something delicious for dinner.
