The Secret Garden
What a pretty tea rooms Brian and Sarah have here in The Secret Garden, one of those cultish Cork garden centres that has so much more than just plants. “Who could resist?”, asks Caroline Hennessy, “Especially since the tea comes in proper pots with china cups and real homebaking. My first taste of Christmas mince pies was here in October and I had to be held back from buying pots of the deliciously rich mincemeat there and then. The garden centre is the only place I managed to find a long-sought-for quince tree. Definitely worth a detour”. Even if you do not know a begonia from a brassica, the aesthetic of the garden, and a cup of good tea in a good tea cup, is sufficient reason to make that detour.
