Saba

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

Paul Cadden’s Saba was a great idea from the get-go: a classy Thai restaurant with great cooking from Taweesak Trakoolwattana, a fab room with a cocktail bar in front, and a super-charged atmosphere.

The food is vivid, fun, and very fairly priced, and the place is chic but buzzy, so Saba works for any and every kind of occasion. Whether it’s a birthday party, a date, a casual bite and a cocktail, this slinky room fits the bill. And the cocktails are already legendary – we are currently loving the ‘Flirtini’ with raspberry infused vodka, raspberries, pineapple and champagne.

As Saba is so cool, booking is a necessity but, on quieter nights, you just might be able to squeeze in by the bar for a drink and some crispy black pepper squid, and that’s pretty much perfect. Takeaway is available from Saba-to-Go in Rathmines, Dublin 6 and do not miss Saba-Dilla, their award-winning festival food trailer.

26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2.
