Inside, the bedrooms are calming and very, very comfortable, stylish without being enslaved to design, so their focus is on a comfort that makes you feel very good indeed, especially when the staff arrive with some tea and hand-made biscuits to calm the weary traveller.
That feel-good factor is an key element of Pembroke Townhouse, because it’s one of those elements that is hard to capture, hard to conjure, hard to create. But when someone gets it – as Ms Teehan and her team do – then it means that the guest is a very happy person indeed. They have worked assiduously over the last year and more to make their breakfasts something special, giving the house another attraction, and the staff look after you properly, in that waggish Dublin way which is so fine.
