Nine Market Street
Nine Market Street, a commodious café with three little rooms upstairs, is a brilliant new addition to Kinsale. Leona and Dee offer cooking that appears simple – sausage rolls, sandwiches; pasta dishes; seafood chowder; Wagyu burger – but here’s their secret: this cooking is technically super-charged. The consideration and finesse that bring these dishes together is quite masterful, so that bowl of French onion soup will stop you in your tracks, as you revel in its luxuriousness, its perfect balance, the crispness of the croute and the slinky sexyness of the ling-simmered onion. Their sausage rolls are textbook: perfect pastry, sweet, succulent pork, a sausage roll to stand alongside the best in Ireland. With everything that she cooks, Leona summons up flavours that are true, refreshing and light, whilst Dee's confident charm in the room means you will not want to leave until you have eaten your way through everything on the menu. You are going to be hearing a lot about Leona and Dee and Nine Market Street.
