Mezze - Middle Eastern Foods

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

Well, face it, but what else are you going to do after you have met each other on a glacier in New Zealand, whilst backpacking around the globe, except head to Waterford and establish an artisan food company specialising in classic Middle Eastern mezze dishes? That was the somewhat circuitous route that led Nicola and Dvir to create their company, Mezze, and, thereby, to create for us real hummus masbakha, spicy Moroccan carrot salad, lavosh crackers, labneh, matbukha and many other delights. “Everything I tasted was superb” was the unabashed reaction of McKennas’ Guides editor Eamon Barrett, and Mr Barrett is not alone, for the Mezze mezzes have quickly been snapped up by the cutting-edge superstore Ardkeen and other cool outlets and Nicola and Dvir will be amongst the cool cats at the Ballymaloe Litfest. The reason for their rapid success is simple: authentic recipes, authentic flavours, authentic textures and tastes. Mezze put the magic of mezze at everyone’s fingertips.
