Man of Aran Fudge

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

“If you are a fudge fan, buy this product” was how Conor Pope, of The Irish Times, summed up his second fudge tasting, when Tomas Poil’s Man of Aran fudge came out on top, just as it had done the first time Mr Pope conducted a taste and value test.
“It is rich and creamy, and one square will keep you going for a long time”, said The Irish Times, and that is exactly what the many fans of Man of Aran like best. They also like the fact that Tomas crafts more than twenty different flavous of fudge – everything from chocolate orange strawberries and cream to Christmas pudding fudge – and they also like the fact that Mr Poil is such a tireless, hard working guy, rushing to fairs and festivals all over the country, whilst also selling each day at Dublin’s George’s Street Arcade. Mr Poil is a terrific character, and meeting him and chatting about and then tasting his fudges is mighty fun, so don’t miss the Man of Aran
