King's Head Bistro
In the hands of owners other than Paul and Mary Grelish, it would be easy for the King’s Head to have become a shrine, a monument to 800 years of Galway history. But Paul and Mary’s dynamic yet modest style means that the King’s Head is a piece of living, breathing, quixotic Galway cuture, the culture of Galway’s hospitality and food, as it is today, and not just as it has been in the past. This means the pub is always hospitable, and always evolving – they have created their own craft beer, Blood Red Ale – as Paul and Mary seek to make this landmark destination even better. Their creation of the fine, friendly King’s Head Bistro, with its beautiful atmosphere and lovely West Coast food echoes their developments in creating a specialist whiskey bar. The result is a bar that is a world unto itself, a place of great drinks, food, music, hospitality and – for sure – great fun.
