Kennedy's Food Store

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

It's 2.15 pm, on a quiet Wednesday, early in the year, and people are still turning up to order lunch at Kennedy’s of Fairview Strand.
We have no doubt that they are doing exactly the same at Kennedy’s at The Hilltop in Raheny, and at Kennedy’s on the Clontarf Road.
So, what does the fact that people are turning up to eat lunch in Kennedy’s at 2.15 on a Wednesday show us? Two things, for starters: firstly, people are comfortable in Sarah Kennedy trio of food loving destinations, indeed everyone who walks in behaves as if they are a regular.
Secondly, Kennedy's gives people what they want: a gratin of haddock and spinach with salads. A give-away price for a sandwich and a bowl of soup. Tasty, moreish food in the shape of a good beef lasagne. Fresh, clean tasting salads. Kennedy's food is simple, clean and clever, and you could eat it several times a week, which is how Sarah Kennedy and her team not only sailed through the recession, but also opened the newest branches of the business. And that bomb-proof model for a modern Dublin food business – good food, value, service, and style – prospers today as Kennedy’s sails towards ten years of service to the people of Fairview. “Our goal is to provide you with great food in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere” is a small part of their mission statement.
Kennedy’s gets there with gas in the tank.
