G's Gourmet Jams

Thirty six saucepans! That’s what you might see at any given time on any given day in the little factory where Helen Gee and her team make their jams, relishes and chutneys. Bubble, bubble, bubble, thirty six times over. Pan after pan, pan after pan, bubbling away on the stove, just like you remember your granny making her jam, stirring the pot, the scent of sugar, the scent of fruit, the intoxication of the preserving process, the age-less and age-old practice, bubbling away, day after day.

Of course, it is this very simplicity that makes Helen’s jams special, the simplicity that focuses on the communion of farm-fresh fruit and sugar, and nothing else.
