
Liz Phelan and Caroline Kerley run a great show in Freddy’s, and they have done so for many years. Like other great sister ‘n’ sister teams – think of Cork’s Farmgate, or Jacque’s – they seem effortlessly professional, utterly in control, calm, confident and capable.
They source and cook lovely food, and they don’t mess about with it, so flavours are true and clean and the dishes are classic combinations: mushroom risotto with Parmesan; chicken with herb stuffing and red wine sauce; crab linguini with white wine sauce; sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. Fine cooking and excellent service.
