More or less a household name now, D&C has been a port of call for coffee, wine and food lovers in the city for many years. From the same husband and wife team that brought us canal-side Italian restaurant Nonna Valentina, and Italian casual eatery L’Officina (and Bar Italia and La Corte del Caffe in another partnership), D&C is a place to chill out and enjoy some good Italian delicatessen foods, such as the plate of bresaola with Parmesan, good Italian olive oil and lemon juice on warm bread, with a glass of good Italian vino from the very extensive list, which covers almost every region for both reds and whites. Booking ahead is advisable to ensure getting a table because, as you might expect by the sounds of sucha place, it is very, very popular.
