The Coffee Shop Union Hall

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

Billy and Jessie have taken pretty little Union Hall by storm. Their fulsome hospitality, their sincerity, and their beautiful cooking and baking, have given them a place at the centre of West Cork’s food culture, just a few short years after opening their doors on the Main Street of Union Hall.
They have done it not just by charming people, however. They have done it by creating beautiful dishes, dishes with flair, vibrancy and imagination. At the core of the offer is Billy’s wonderful baking – his sausage rolls are ace, his pasties are to die for; his flourless chocolate cake is textbook – but it’s not just the baking that is top-notch: the Coffee Shop chowder is a classic, and the signature pizzas draw in locals from miles around on weekend evenings.
Add in a lovely, modest room that seems to incarnate the spirit of West Cork, and you can see exactly why The Coffee Shop hits straight home to so many hearts. Billy and Jessie do the magic, the West Cork magic.
