Theatre of Food 2017

Archive - all the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

Theatre of Food is a gourmet playhouse where stories of cooking and eating and imbibing mingle in a theatrical setting with music and comedy and great food.

The Theatre kitchen will prepare tastings of all the food demoed, and the newly expanded fringe theatre will have a stream of tutored tastings of everything from Irish coffee to natural wines. Experience a masterclass with Kevin Thornton, enjoy sick surfing food with Finn Ní Fhaoláin, or eat yourself fit with Rosanna Davison. Ralph Rolle from Chic comes back with his cookies - Let’s Dance! Come and hear about sustainable food with Fintan O’Toole, or, expanding a theme from Mindfield, let’s talk about fake food news. And there's more! See our programme for details. See you in Mindfield at Electric Picnic.

Theatre of Food Goes Green
Theatre of Food is working hard to reduce its environmental impact by eliminating plastics, and using compostable and reusable packaging.
In addition to cornstarch drinking cups, Theatre of Food will have dedicated food waste collection bins throughout the area, manned by Friends of the Earth volunteers. ToF have also manufactured a reusable glass for our tastings. Crew t-shirts at the Theatre are made from organic cotton and, of course, there is a determined focus on cooking and serving foods that are local and sustainably grown and farmed.

The People’s Picnic
Look out for Electric Picnic’s first actual Picnic, happening in Mindfield on Saturday at 4.30pm. This is a communal dining experience featuring Picnic boxes full of artisan food and drinks, and all profits go to Jigsaw. The People’s Picnic is organised by the Failte Ireland Food Champions.
